Green Best

The greens in plants is so pretty, it’s such a simple color, but that simple color underlies an entire bunch of biochemical reactions to produce this green. Hence, sometimes the simplicity of something that is one color is just nice to the eyes.

Booo!

So who doesn’t like old school horror movies like Dracula, Nosferatu, Frank Einstein and so on..?

Well since I’m young I have been completely in love with any movie that had a dark castle, candles, a cemetery as backyard, and a spooky piano! A giant full moon, a dark forest with howling wolves in it! Also, I find it super duper fun to watch a movie where there are “regular vampires” in them, where they sleep in coffins, are afraid of garlic and crosses! I love films that have these aspects in them. There are a few comedies that include all these aspects like the movie Elvira (there are actually 2 movies, ha ha). The Addams Family is also a wonderful example of what I love seeing in movies and TV shows in this case. I have also recently discovered the movie Love at First Bite, which is hilarious in my opinion! Hence, I am a big fan of horror and spooky comedie movies from the early 30’s to the 90’s. My previous post with the graveyard is also extremely representative of those good old non-gory horror movies.

Glowy Rose

This is a pretty flower that I found in my mother’s yard…before all the snow and ice and horribly cold temperature arrived!

*Pardon the quality of the picture this was done with my old Cyber Shot camera!

Boo!

Here is a picture I took a while back…that I might have slightly modified ha ha! But that morning I was taking a walk through a little bicycle pathway, and there was heavy fog all over. When I passed in front of the cemetery I just knew I had to take this picture. It’s so representative of those old Dracula movies! It’s spooky and you can see the contour of the tombstones.

Piggie trouble!

Boo!

So a while back, I was cleaning my guinea pigs’ cage, and I decided it was time to give them a little bath too.

Sorry let me give you all a prequel ; I have two guinea pigs, one hairy one and one fat and smooth haired one! And they require a bath once in six month around.

So after having bathed them, I put them in a cozy towel so they can keep their warmth while drying off. As time goes by, I play with them on the floor…I notice BLOOD!

I trailed back the blood to one of my piggies toes…OMG… The toe in question was broken and hanging on one side (gross, I know). So I panicked I called the vet, and they said it would be 60$ a checkup, not counting the treatment for his tiny broken toe, and that most of the time they amputate the toes since it’s so small.

I’m a student, so I don’t really have that much dollars to spend to “maybe” heal his toe, or to pay for my cute piggie’s amputation. So not wanting him to be amputated, I put some polysporin where the wound was, while keeping his three toes together added a small bandage, and on top of that I added some tape (nonono not Duct Tape!). Yes…homemade solutions are not always the best…

One month later…and a change in bandage everyday

His toe is healed, and stays straight up on its own and he can move it!

I was so happy for my piggie!

BOOO!

BOOO! So this is my new blog and my name on here is Skakuntala. This blog is of an average woman’s (ME duhhhhh) rants and thoughts…and other averageness thingies.

So let me start by presenting myself;

Hello dear folks, I’m Skakuntala…the average person (except my weight but SHHHH). I’m currently enrolled in University. Actually I’m into my Fall final exams…so yeah should be studying but finding anything else BUT studying interesting…typical procrastination…

Actually last night…while procrastinating, I found a whole frozen chicken in my freezer, so I decided it was greatly time for me to finally cook it in the oven. So I defrosted it overnight, put it in a kind of Pyrex oven plate-ish dish. So I checked around in my fridge, and saw that I had dozen oranges, which is wayyy too many oranges, and if I did not find a way to use them…well I’d lose them. So feeling a creative vibe going on, well I decided that I should make some Orange Chicken…ou Poulet a l’orange to be fancy. So I sliced around five oranges placed them on my seasoned chicken, added some rice with a little bit of water on the bottom, and carrots and potatoes on top…So I’d have a complete meal ready in one single pan! So I squeeze the juice out of my remaining unused oranges, all over on my rice and potatoes, to give the entire dish an orangey flavor.

Two hours later…

I take out my dish from the oven, took out the burnt oranges from the chicken (I did not actually think they would burn… I know, I should use my common sense once in a while!). Sliced a piece of breast, took some rice (great idea by the way… it cooks in the chicken broth), potatoes and carrots. I then took my first bite of the chicken breast; tasted nothing except for regular plain old chicken. Then, I took a bite from the potatoes, rice and carrots…it tasted actually pretty disgusting…It tasted like burnt oranges all over, a burnt acid-like taste.

Anyways this was my suckiness of the week!

Randomness: When you see a spider on your wall, not only do I freak out and take forever to squash it (because I’m too scared!), but when I do squash, I leave their bodies on the wall so that others spiders can be warned…and maybe they will stay away from my place!

Do you do this?
